Sequence Query Documentation

Any combination of fields may be entered to specify the desired query conditions.

Field Name Field Description
Data Source: Select one of four options for the origin of the data; the options are "mitochondrial", "chloroplast", "bacterial" or "all". Default value is "all".
Molecule Type: Select one of five options for the type of molecule sought; the options are DNA, DNA [ complete genomes only ], RNA, protein or all. Default value is all.
Show Oversampled Data: Only active for complete genome sequences. "Yes" shows all the complete genome sequences covered by the query; "No" shows only a representative set of the five most divergent sequences for any organism for which more than five complete organelle genome sequences exist.
Show NCBI RefSeq Only "Yes" retrieves only GOBASE entries corresponding to NCBI RefSeq records. Default value is "No".
Taxon Name: Enter the taxon name here. Accepts * as an initial or terminal wildcard.
Taxon Division: Mark any of the boxes to receive results from that subset of taxon divisions; options are Fungi, Metazoa, Plants. Protista, α-proteobacteria, γ-proteobacteria and Cyanobacteria. Default behaviour with no boxes marked is to return data from all taxonomic divisions.
Plasmid: Select by whether sequence is a plasmid. Default value "not set".
Shape of Molecule: Select by whether sequence is circular or linear. Default value "not set".
Map Available: Select by whether a map of the sequence is available in GOBASE. Default value "not set".
Sequence Length: Select minimum and/or maximum values for sequence length.
Database-related Specifications
GenBank Create Date: Specify date on which the GenBank record was created.
GenBank Last Update: Specify date on which the GenBank record was last updated.
NCBI Entrez GI: Specify an NCBI "gi" identifier for the desired sequence.
GenBank Accession: Specify a GenBank accession number for the desired sequence.
Author: Specify the author name attached to the desired sequence
EMBL Record: Specify an EMBL identifier for the desired sequence.
PIR Record Name: Specify a PIR identifier for the desired sequencer.
SWISSPROT ID: Specify a SWISSPROT ID for the desired sequence.
GOBASE Sequence ID: Specify a GOBASE sequence ID for the desired sequence.
Sort Results by: Specify the order in which the results will be sorted; options are by taxonomic division, species name or molecule type.
